How the night is going

Every measure is mapped to the same two sides so results add up across differently worded questions: Restrict (the anti-data-center outcome) and Allow (the pro-data-center outcome).

      About this tracker

      What counts

A measure is included when the question itself is about data centers: bans and megawatt caps, zoning referendums on data center sites, agreements with data center developers, voter-approval requirements written to stop a data center, and advisory questions asking whether to allow them.

Compiled from Ballotpedia's 2026 data center measure tracking, MultiState's September 2026 roundup, county election offices, and local reporting as of mid-October 2026. Ballot language is quoted where an official text was available and marked as a paraphrase otherwise.

      How the numbers work

      Restrict / Allow
Each question's YES and NO are mapped to the anti-data-center side (Restrict) and the pro-data-center side (Allow), so a NO vote on a "should the council approve data centers" question counts as Restrict.
      Average share
The unweighted mean of each side's percentage across measures with votes, so a small village counts the same as a city. The pooled figure adds up raw votes instead.
      Too close
Margin under 2 points while counting continues.
      Votes remaining
A rough estimate that assumes unreported precincts are the same size as reported ones. Treat it as a hint, not a projection.
      Final
Marked by hand once a county posts a complete unofficial count. Nothing here is certified.
